The free allowance
The free version of FriendTrack is the whole app with three numbers attached. These limits are in force today, not something planned.
The three numbers
| Limit | Free allowance |
|---|---|
| Groups you create | 1 |
| Maps you own | 1 |
| The longest a single sharing session may run | 8 hours |
That is the complete list. There is no cap on how many people are in a Group, how many Groups you belong to, how often you share, or how many Maps you install.
What each one counts, precisely
One created Group. Created, not joined. Being invited into ten Groups costs nothing; making a second one is what the limit stops. It counts Groups you created and still have, so deleting one frees the slot.
One owned Map. Owned, meaning you made it in the Map Editor. Maps you installed from the catalog and Maps somebody let your Group use are not counted, so a free account can hold one Map of its own alongside any number of other people’s.
Eight hours of Sharing. Per session, not per day or per week. The 1h, 2h, 4h and 8h lengths are all free; Until stop is not, because it has no end. You can start a fresh eight-hour session immediately after one ends, as many times as you like.
What happens when you reach one
You are not stopped mid-task and nothing you have already made is affected. The app offers the upgrade screen at the point you would have gone over, and the thing you were doing does not happen. See I can only make one Group.
If you had more before
If you made several Groups or Maps and later stopped subscribing, none of it is deleted. One of each stays usable and the rest are locked until you subscribe again, at which point they all come back exactly as they were. That is worth reading properly before it happens: if your subscription lapses.
