What FriendTrack notifies you about
Notifications come from four things happening, and each one can be switched off on its own. There is nothing else: FriendTrack does not send suggestions, reminders, offers or weekly summaries.
The four kinds

Those four names are the rows on the app’s own notification settings, so what you read here and what you tap there are the same list. Turning them on and off is turn notification categories on and off.
What is never a notification
- Somebody leaving an Area. You are told when a friend arrives somewhere and never when they leave, and that is a decision rather than a gap — see arrivals, but not departures.
- Somebody’s Position simply moving. A friend walking across the site does not notify anybody; only crossing into a named Area does.
- Your own sharing running out. The session ends quietly. If you want to know, the countdown at the top of the map is the place to look.
- Anything at all when nobody is sharing. No session, no events.
The one thing that is always delivered
A child-safety concern report is always delivered, and switching All Notifications off does not mute it. That is stated on the settings screen itself, and it is the only exception in the app.
Where notifications come from
All of them arrive as ordinary phone notifications, sent to your device. That has one practical consequence worth knowing: if your phone is set to block FriendTrack’s notifications, none of the four reaches you however they are configured inside the app — see notifications are blocked on this device.
While you are actually looking at the map, arrivals also appear as a banner on the screen. That is the same event shown twice in two places, not a second kind of notification.
