The map I installed has disappeared
Using a venue’s own branded FriendTrack app? Your app carries the venue’s name and shows a Powered by FriendTrack note, and it is locked to that venue’s Map. That build has no My Maps tab, no catalog and nothing to switch between, so this page does not apply to it. Everything else here is the same app underneath and works exactly as described — Groups, Sharing, Meeting Points, notifications and your account — and you can share a Group with somebody using ordinary FriendTrack.
A Map that was in YOUR MAPS is not there any more, and the map screen has fallen back to asking you to pick one. You did not remove it.
What has happened
A published Map can stop being published. Either its creator took it out of the catalog, or a moderator did. From your phone the two look the same: the Map is gone and no reason is given.
When that happens, your copy stops being readable, and the app tidies the dangling reference away rather than leaving a Map in your list that will not open. That tidy-up is what you saw.
Why somebody else in your Group may still have it
This is the part that makes the whole thing look like a bug, and it is not.
A Map that is no longer published is still readable by anybody who shares a Group with the person who made it. So if one member of your Group knows the creator — or is the creator — the Map keeps working for them and disappears for everybody else. Two people in the same Group, same venue, same day, and one of them can still open the Map.
That rule exists so a team can keep using a venue Map they never wanted to publish to the world. It means the honest answer to why has hers not disappeared is: she shares a Group with whoever made it, and you do not. The rule itself is written up on let your Group use an unpublished map.
What to do
- Ask in your Group whether anybody still has it. If somebody does, they can let your Group use it directly, and it comes back for everybody — let your Group use an unpublished map is what they need.
- Search the catalog for the venue again. A creator who withdrew a Map to publish a corrected one will have put a new Map Version there — find and install a map.
- Carry on without it. Sharing and the Friends list are unaffected; you lose the picture, not the people.
If it matters and none of that works
Whether a Map is still listed, and which of the two removals happened, is knowable from the server and not from your phone — the app is not told, so it cannot tell you. If this was a venue Map you were relying on, write to support@friendtrack.net with the venue’s name and roughly when it went, and it can be looked up.
If you made the Map yourself
Then this page is the wrong one — your own Maps do not disappear from you, and the situation you are in is my map was delisted.
