Name it and pick an icon

Map Name is what people search the catalog for and what they see in their own list of maps, so it should be the name they would type: the venue, as it is called locally. Roskilde Festival, not RF site plan v3 final. Adding the year is worth it only if you expect to make one per year, since a name is one of the things that cannot be changed once the Map is published.

The icon is chosen from Choose Map Icon, with a search box. It is a small glyph beside the name in a list, so its whole job is to make your Map recognisable at a glance among the two or three somebody has installed — a lift for a ski area, a tent for a festival, a building for a venue. There is no wrong answer and nobody navigates by it, so do not spend long here.

Both appear in the same places: your Library in the editor, the My Maps tab in the app, and the catalog if you publish. Both can be changed freely while the Map is unpublished, and neither can be changed afterwards without creating a new Map Version — see a published map cannot be edited.
