Upload the image

In your Library at friendtrack.net, use Upload map. Fill in Map Name, pick the file under Map Image, and tick I confirm I have the rights to use this image. — that tick is required, because a Map you later submit to the public catalog is reviewed by a person who is shown what you claim about the image.

Image Source is optional and worth filling in anyway: a line like photo I took or a licence note is what a reviewer reads when deciding whether the image is yours to publish. It is not shown to people using the Map.

The editor previews the image, reports its dimensions, and optimises it as it goes — resizing and compressing large files and telling you what it did. Files over 10 MB are refused, and anything under about 400 px gets a warning that it may be too small to be useful. You do not need to prepare a web-sized copy yourself: upload the good one.

When it is done you land on the Map’s own page, which is where calibration happens — what calibration is. Nothing is public yet, and nothing is visible to anybody else: a freshly uploaded Map is private to you until you decide otherwise.
