Sign in with your phone number

Pick your country under COUNTRY, type your number under PHONE NUMBER, and tap Send Verification Code. A six-digit code arrives by text; type it in and you are in. There is no password to choose, no email address to confirm and no account to create separately — the first sign-in is the sign-up.

Your phone number is the account. That is why there is nothing to remember: signing in on a new phone is the same act as signing in on this one, and there is no password anybody can lose or reuse — see I got a new phone. It is also why the number itself cannot simply be swapped later: changing it is starting again rather than editing a detail — see I changed my phone number.

If the number has not been used with FriendTrack for about three months, one more screen comes before the map: it shows how many Groups and Maps are saved under the number and asks you to confirm they are yours — see confirm these are yours.
