Report a concern
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. FriendTrack is not an emergency service and a report here does not reach one.
Make a report
- Open the Profile tab and tap Report a concern.
- Pick a CATEGORY: Child safety, Harassment or abuse, Inappropriate content or Other.
- Add anything useful under DETAILS (OPTIONAL) — who, where, when, and what happened. It is optional and it is the most useful part.
- Tap Submit report.
You get Thanks — we’ve received your report when it has arrived. Every report is reviewed.
What to say
The report is read by a person, so plain words are better than categories. Worth including:
- Which Group it happened in, and roughly when.
- Which person, by the display name you see them under.
- What they did, in your own words.
You do not need to gather evidence or take screenshots. A clear description is enough to act on.
What happens next
The report is looked at and acted on where it warrants it — which can mean removing content or an account. You are not told the outcome. That is a deliberate limit rather than an oversight: a report that reported back would tell the reporter things about somebody else’s account.
Reports are kept for twelve months and then deleted.
What reporting does not do
- It does not remove the person from your Group. If you want them out now, and you are the Group’s admin, do that yourself — remove someone from a Group — and generate a new Invite Code afterwards so the old one cannot let them back in.
- It does not stop them seeing you. Only stopping your own sharing does that, immediately: Stop Sharing.
- It does not notify them. A report is not visible to the person it is about.
Notifications about reports are never muted
Switching All Notifications off silences every category in the app — except a child-safety concern report, which is always delivered. It is the only exception, and the notification settings screen says so on itself.
Urgent child-safety concerns
For an urgent child-safety concern you can also write instead of using the app, and the
confirmation screen inside the app names the address for exactly that. friendtrack.net/child-safety
sets out the standards this app applies and how child-safety reports are handled.
If you cannot reach the app
Reporting from inside the app is better, because the report arrives with the account and the Group attached and nothing has to be reconstructed. But if you have been signed out, have deleted the app, or cannot reach that screen, write to support@friendtrack.net and say which Group, which display name, and what happened.
